# Connecting tools

Source: https://permdock.com/docs/getting-started/connecting-tools

Connect a coding agent to the PermDock docs MCP server, the Markdown pages and the Agent Skills, and point the permdock CLI at PermDock Cloud.

These docs are readable by agents in three forms: a remote MCP server, Markdown twins of every page, and Agent Skills that ship in the `permdock` package. None of them needs an account.

## Docs MCP server [#docs-mcp-server]

`https://permdock.com/mcp` is a Streamable HTTP MCP server named `permdock-docs`. Its tools search the docs and read pages; they are read-only, take no subject, token or policy, and need no authentication, so there is no OAuth consent step.

| Client | Install |
| --- | --- |
| Cursor | [Add to Cursor](cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=permdock-docs&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL3Blcm1kb2NrLmNvbS9tY3AifQ==) |
| VS Code | [Add to VS Code](vscode:mcp/install?%7B%22name%22%3A%22permdock-docs%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fpermdock.com%2Fmcp%22%7D) |
| Claude Code | `claude mcp add --transport http permdock-docs https://permdock.com/mcp` |
| Other | A remote server entry with `url` set to `https://permdock.com/mcp` |

```json title=".cursor/mcp.json"
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "permdock-docs": { "url": "https://permdock.com/mcp" }
  }
}
```

To serve your own application's permissions over MCP, use the [MCP adapter](/docs/adapters/mcp); the docs server only reads documentation.

## Markdown and llms.txt [#markdown-and-llmstxt]

Every page has a Markdown twin: append `.md` to its URL (`/docs/getting-started/installation.md`), or request the page with `Accept: text/markdown`. `/docs.md` is this site's index page. `/llms.txt` lists every page and `/llms-full.txt` concatenates them ([Agent docs standards](/docs/standards/agent-docs-standards)).

## Agent Skills [#agent-skills]

```bash
npx skills add ScaleDockHQ/PermDock
```

With `permdock` installed, `pnpm exec permdock skills install` copies the skills that match the installed version ([skills](/docs/cli/skills)).

## CLI [#cli]

The `permdock` CLI ships in the `permdock` package and has no `login` command. Commands that read the project, such as `collect`, `doctor` and `scan`, need no network. `permdock cloud push` reads `PERMDOCK_CLOUD_URL` and `PERMDOCK_CLOUD_KEY` from the environment ([cloud](/docs/cli/cloud)). Under `--json`, a failing command prints RFC 9457 Problem Details ([CLI](/docs/cli)).

## OpenAPI [#openapi]

PermDock publishes no hosted API, so these docs carry no OpenAPI reference or "try it" console. `permdock openapi` adds `security` and `securitySchemes` from the permission catalog to your app's own OpenAPI document ([openapi](/docs/cli/openapi)).
